Complaints Rising & Sales Falling: The Timeshare Resale Business
“We decided to spend the money because they already had a buyer in place…We were going to make a profit. If we didn’t sell within four months they would refund the fee,” said Reuter, a Florida attorney and yet another unsuspecting consumer trapped and swindled by Premier Timeshare Solutions. Reuter was told by Premier, another timeshare resale company (rated F with the Better Business Bureau) they just needed $2,000 dollars to get the sale processed. Now it’s 6 months later and they have not heard a thing from the company who took their money and left. Worse than this, Reuter has been propositioned by other companies, promising help they will get rid of her timeshare for him, only to attempt to scam her again by calling themselves a new company, when in actuality it’s the same one again. The Attorney General in Florida, as well as Arkansas, Massachusetts, North Carolina and Oklahoma have now issued their own warnings about timeshare resale companies.
