Florida-based Timeshare Company Ordered to Recompense
BlueGreen Corp., a timeshare salescompany with more than 208,000 owners, was ordered by the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection to make amends for their use of deceptive sales tactics for its marketing of timeshare vacation packages in Pennsylvania. Specifically, BlueGreen has complaints filed about false promises in regard to when or where the purchaser could travel, lack of discounts or guaranteed extra services, as well as telemarketing to many Pennsylvania residents who are in the National Do Not Call Registry. Attorney General Tom Corbett and BlueGreen Corp. have reached a settlement that addresses these complaints, issuing an order for the timeshare company to refund consumers who were unable to use their timeshare, promised “free gifts”, or proven to be subjects of other false advertising.
