Timeshare Resales Require Magnifying Glass
The value of a timeshare relies heavily on the ability and desires of its owner, so when circumstances change, some owners are looking for a quick way out. However, caution must be exercised in such an overly-impacted industry. Everywhere you look, timeshare resale companies are being investigated. So what do you do when you don’t trust who you have to sell to? Know the signs. Some companies will charge you high, upfront fees and tell you they have buyers lined up when they don’t. Timeshare companies generally offer to either buy your timeshare or sell your timeshare for you. Some may be legitimate, but others are definitely not.
To ensure that you are not amongst those who get scammed, follow some simple rules. Beware of companies who use high-pressure sales tactics or ask for a credit card right away. Always shop around. Finally, investigate a company you plan to do business with and be sure to know, any legitimate business should be able to send a contract.
